Peter and the apostles answered

Peter spoke on behalf of all of the apostles when he said the following words.

The God of our fathers raised up Jesus

Here "raised up" is an idiom. AT: "The God of our fathers caused Jesus to live again" (See: rc://en/ta/man/translate/figs-idiom)

God exalted him to his right hand

To be at the "right hand of God" is a symbolic action of receiving great honor and authority from God. AT: "God exalted him to the place of honor beside him" (See: rc://en/ta/man/translate/translate-symaction)

by hanging him on a tree
