# Connecting Statement:
|

|
|
This is the next event in this part of the story. Jesus enters the temple in Jerusalem.
|
|
|
|
# Jesus entered the temple
|
|
|
|
It may be helpful to state that he entered Jerusalem first, where the temple was located. AT: "Jesus entered Jerusalem and then went to the temple courtyard"
|
|
|
|
# entered the temple
|
|
|
|
Only priests were allowed to enter the temple building. AT: "went into the temple courtyard" (See: [[rc://en/ta/man/translate/figs-explicit]])

# cast out
|
|
|
|
"throw out" or "force out"
|
|
|

# It is written
|
|
|
|
This is a quotation from Isaiah. This can be stated in active form. AT: "The scriptures say" or "A prophet wrote these words in the scriptures" (See: [[rc://en/ta/man/translate/figs-activepassive]])

# My house
|
|
|
|
The word "My" refers to God and "house" refers to the temple.
|

|
|

"a place where people pray to me"
