Slaves, be obedient to

and trembling, in the honesty of your heart, as to Christ

AT: "and humble fear, just as you obey Christ"

deep respect and trembling

not only to please them when they are watching you

AT: "Always work as if you were working for Christ himself, even when your masters are not watching you"

as slaves of Christ himself

Serve your earthly master as if your earthly master was Christ himself.

serving cheerfully as for the Lord and not just for people

AT: "Work joyfully since you are working for the Lord and not just for people"

remembering that whatever good deed each person does, he will receive a reward from the Lord

AT: "Remember that every good deed a person does will be rewarded by the Lord"
