the rebellious children
Yahweh speaks about his people as if they were his children.
this is Yahweh's declaration
"this is what Yahweh has declared" or "this is what I, Yahweh, have declared"
They make plans, but not from me
"They plan to do things, but they do not ask me what I want them to do"
but they were not directed by my Spirit
"but my Spirit did not direct them"
they add sin to sin
"they continue to sin more and more"
