# These were descendants of the Rephaim of Gath

Here "these" refer to Sippai in [1 Chronicles 20:4](../20/04.md), Lahmi in [1 Chronicles 20:5](../20/04.md), and the giant in verse 6.

David and his soldiers are referred to by the part of their bodies used to hold a sword. This can be stated in active form.
