Connecting Statement:
This begins the account of Jesus celebrating the Passover with his disciples.
Now
This word is used here to mark a break in the main story line. Here Matthew starts to tell a new part of the story.
He said, "Go into the city to a certain man and say to him, 'The Teacher says, "My time is at hand. I will keep the Passover at your house with my disciples."'"
This has quotations within quotations. You can state some of the direct quotations as indirect quotations. AT: "He told his disciples to go into the city to a certain man and tell him that the Teacher says to him, 'My time is at hand. I will keep the Passover at your house with my disciples.'" or "He told his disciples to go into the city to a certain man and say to him that the Teacher's time is at hand and he will keep the Passover with his disciples at that man's house." Possible meanings are 1) "The time that I told you about" or 2) "The time God has set for me."
is at hand

"eat the Passover meal" or "celebrate the Passover by eating the special meal"
