## translationNotes
* Zechariah tells how Yahweh is sending him to judge the nations who have plundered Jerusalem.
* **plundered you** - "stole things from Jerusalem after it was attacked" (See: [[:en:ta:vol1:translate:figs_idiom]])
* **for whoever touches you** - The word "touches" refers to a touch meant to harm. AT: "for whoever hurts you" (See: [[:en:ta:vol2:translate:figs_metonymy]])
* **the apple of God's eye** - The apple of an eye refers to the dark part inside of the eyeball that allows a person to see. This is a very important and sensitive part of the body. This phrase is used to say Jerusalem is very important to God and something he will protect. (See: [[:en:ta:vol1:translate:figs_idiom]])
* **shake my hand over them** - This is a gesture used to show that God has chosen to destroy something. AT: "signal they are going to be destroyed" (See: [[:en:ta:vol1:translate:figs_idiom]])
* **and they will be plunder** - Their cities have already been destroyed and are left open for people to steal anything they would like. (See: [[:en:ta:vol1:translate:figs_metaphor]])
