# Soul
The soul is a part of a person that no one can see. In the Bible, people talked about the soul as something that is inside of a person. The soul is the part of a person that continues living after the body dies (see: Psalm 16:10; Matthew 10:28; Revelation 6:9). When a person dies, their soul leaves their body.

The word "soul" is also sometimes used to talk about the whole person. For example, "the soul who sins" is "the person who sins" (see: Ezekiel 18:4). The human “spirit” is similar to the “soul.” However, the spirit and the soul are separate things in the Bible (see: 1 Thessalonians 5:23; Hebrews 4:12).
