  • Then he said - The word "he" refers to the servant.
  • grant me success today and show covenant faithfulness to my master Abraham - This can also be translated as "Show covenant faithfulness to my master Abraham by granting me success today."
  • grant me success - "give me success" or "make me able to do what I have come here to do." The servant wanted to find a good wife for Abraham's son.
  • show covenant faithfulness to my master Abraham - This is faithfulness because of the covenant that God made with Abraham. It can be translated as "be faithful to my master Abraham because of your covenant.”
  • Look - Here the word "look" adds emphasis to what follows.
  • the spring of water - This refers to the well in :en:bible🎶gen:24:12. It could be translated as "the spring" or "the well."
  • the daughters of the men of the city - "the young women of the city"
  • Let it happen like this - "Let it happen this way" or "Make this happen"
