  • the fourth month, and the fifth day of the month - "the fifth day of the fourth month." This was probably the fourth month of a calendar that people used then. (See: en:obe:other:biblicaltimemonth)
  • it came about that - This phrase is used here to mark an important event in the story. If your language has a way for doing this, you could consider using it here.
  • I was living among the captives - The word "I" refers to Ezekiel. This can be translated as "I was one of the captives."
  • I saw visions of God - Alternate translations: "I saw visions from God" or "God showed me visions."
  • The word of Yahweh came with power to Ezekiel the priest - Alternate translations: "Yahweh's message came powerfully to Ezekiel the priest" or "Yahweh spoke this message powerfully to Ezekiel the priest"
