"Who caused this bad thing that is happening to us?"

# fear Yahweh
The word "fear" refers Jonah having a deep respecting God.
# What is this that you have done?
The men on the ship used this rhetorical question to show how angry they were at Jonah. AT: "You have done a terrible thing." (See: [[rc://en/ta/man/translate/figs-rquestion]])
# he was running away from the presence of Yahweh
Here Yahweh is represented by his presence. Jonah was seeking to escape Yahweh as if Yahweh was present only in the land of Israel. AT: "Jonah was running away from Yahweh" (See: [[rc://en/ta/man/translate/figs-metonymy]])
# because he had told them.
What he told them can be stated clearly. AT: "because he had said to them, 'I am trying to get away from Yahweh.'" (See: [[rc://en/ta/man/translate/figs-explicit]])
