* These are God's words to Pharaoh about Assyria. God gives his message in the form of a parable about a great cedar tree. (See: [[en:ta:vol1:translate:figs_parables]])

* **Behold** - This can be translated as “Look” or “Listen” or “Pay attention to what I am about to tell you.”

* **a forested canopy** - Possible meanings are: 1) "with so many branches that it provided good shade" or 2) "that provided shade for the other trees in the forest."

* **and great height** - "and very tall"
|
||

* **And its tree top was above the branches** - Possible meanings are 1) "Its top was above the branches of the other trees" or 2) "The top of the tree was in the clouds."
