Ask ... Seek ... Knock
These are word pictures of praying to God. The verb form shows that we are to keep praying until he answers.
Ask
"Ask for what you need" or "Ask God for what you need"
it will be given to you
"you will receive it" or "he will give it to you"
Seek
"Look for what you need"
Knock
"Knock on the door." To knock on a door was a polite way to ask a person inside to open it. If knocking on a door is impolite or not done in your culture, use the word that describes how people politely ask for doors to be opened. Alternate translation: "Call at the door"
it will be opened to you
"the door will be opened for you" or "God will open it for you"
