Stacy sent email from SUN theological checker. It said this
ULB has "Then Sennacherib heard that Tirhakah king of Cush and Egypt had mobilized to fight."
ASV, the basis for ULB, has "And when he heard say of Tirhakah king of Ethiopia, Behold, he is come out to fight against thee, he sent messengers again unto Hezekiah, saying", no reference to Egypt.
Nor was Tirhakah Egypt's king, he was king of Cush only.
No reference to Egypt in UDB nor in any English version. Nor in any manuscripts. Just seems to be a plain error. I will translate it without Egypt and suggest that we cut "and Egypt".
The audio of 2 Kings has already been uploaded to BIEL, so this should probably wait until after the June 2023 merge.
I don't know why ULB has "and Egypt" in 2Ki 19:9 and Isaiah 37:9. The only English version that mentions Egypt is Good News Translation:
GNT: ... the Egyptian army, led by King Tirhakah of Ethiopia ...
(According to Ellicott's Commentary, notices in the annals of Assurbanipal refer to Tirhakah has "king of Mizraim and Cush." The Pulpit commentary also says that Tirhakah was king of Egypt. But that would not be a reason for putting it in the ULB.)
Suggestion: Delete "and Egypt" from 2Ki 19:9 and Isa 37:9.
