## Definition: ##
|
|
|
|
The term "understand" means to hear or receive information and know what it means.
|
|
|
|
* The term "understanding" can refer to "knowledge" or "wisdom" or realizing how to do something.
|
|
* To understand someone can also mean to know how that person is feeling.
|
|
* While walking on the road to Emmaus, Jesus caused the disciples to understand the meaning of the scriptures about the Messiah.
|
|
* Depending on the context, the term "understand" could be translated by "know" or "believe" or "comprehend" or "know what (something) means."
|
|
* Often the term "understanding" can be translated by "knowledge" or "wisdom" or "insight."
|
|
|
