# drunk, drunkard # ## Facts: ## The term "drunk" means to be intoxicated from drinking too much of an alcoholic beverage. * A "drunkard" is a person who is often drunk. This kind of person could also be referred to as an "alcoholic." * The Bible tells believers not to be drunk with alcoholic drinks, but to be controlled by God's Holy Spirit. * The Bible teaches that drunkenness is unwise and influences a person to sin in other ways. * Other ways to translate "drunk" could include, "inebriated" or "intoxicated" or "having too much alcohol" or "filled with fermented drink."
