The word "This" refers to the carving that represents Jerusalem (See: [Ezekiel 4:1](../04/01.md))

## in the midst of the nations ##

This refers to the privileged position that Jerusalem had compared to the other nations that were located nearby.

## I have placed her ##

Jerusalem is referred to as "her" and "she." (See: [[rc://en/ta/man/translate/figs-personification]])

## other lands ##

"the neighboring countries" or "the countries around her"

## they have rejected my judgments ##

"they have refused to obey my judgments." The word "they" refers to the people of Israel and Jerusalem.
