The pronouns "we" refer to Paul and the other Jewish believers, not to the Ephesian believers. (See: [[rc://en/ta/man/translate/figs-exclusive]])

"the first people to hope in Christ." They confidently expected that Christ would fulfill God's promises. Alternate translation: "the first to trust in Christ"

Possible meanings are 1) other people would praise God because of the grace he had shown the believers ([verse 6](./06.md)). Alternate translation: "we would live in a way that brings glory to God" or "people would praise God because of the glorious grace he showed us" Or 2) believers would praise God for his glory. Alternate translation: "so that we would live to praise him for his glory."
