In some languages speakers do not interrupt a quote to say who is speaking. Rather they say who is speaking at the beginning or end of the complete quote. AT: "Jesus said to them, 'It was because ... this law. But" (See: [[rc://en/ta/man/translate/writing-quotations]])

Moses wrote the law for their ancestors, which they now were also supposed to follow. AT: "your ancestors' hard hearts that he wrote them this law"
