## See, he is attacking like clouds, and his chariots are like a storm ##
These two sentences have similar meanings. The second one strengthens the thought in the first. (See” Parallelism) AT: "The enemy army is destructive like a strong wind storm" (See: [[rc://en/ta/man/translate/figs-simile]])
## Woe to us, for we will be devastated ##
The people say this when they see the enemy army approaching. AT: The people say. 'We will certainly be destroyed.' "
## cleanse your heart from wickedness, Jerusalem ##
God warns the people living in Jerusalem to repent. AT: "Yahweh says to the people living in Jerusalem, 'You better change how you act."
## a voice is bringing ##
"messengers are proclaiming" (UDB) (See: [[rc://en/ta/man/translate/figs-personification]])
## the coming disaster is heard ##
"people heard the coming disaster" (See: [[rc://en/ta/man/translate/figs-activepassive]])
## from Dan... mountains of Ephraim ##
The people would recognize that those places show this warning was getting closer to them.
