This means to remove the person from the Christian community and to send him into the world where Satan rules. Alternate translation: “commit this man to Satan by sending him away from the Christian community” (See: rc://en/ta/man/jit/figs-metaphor)

The explanation and the AT don't sound like what I would expect for a metaphor. Could it be that it's not a metaphor?

Are "remove the person from the Christian community" and "send him into the world" clear?

How would something like this be?

deliver this man over to Satan
This means make the man leave the Christian community so that he will no longer be protected from Satan. Alternate translation: “hand this man over to Satan by sending him away from the Christian community”

SIL-TN says this:
(1) Many scholars think that this is another way to say “Expel this man from your church group.”
(2) Some scholars think that this means they are putting this person under Satan’s power, so that Satan will harm him. Perhaps it means that Satan will make him get sick or harm him some other way. In the OT, Job is an example of a believer whom God allowed Satan to harm.
Both of these interpretations are probably right. The first interpretation is Paul’s main point: he wants the Corinthian believers to expel this immoral man. But Paul probably also expected this man to suffer after the believers expelled him from the church.

When it says that both interpretations are probably right, it leaves me wondering what belongs in the Bible and what should be explained outside of the Bible.

I think it is ok to put in the Bible "sending him away from the Christian community" if necessary for clarification. We wouldn't want it to sound like they will kill him to send him to Satan or do some kind of magic ritual.

Maybe instead of a metaphor link we should have implicit/explicit link.
