# εἰ/ei
This word changes the meaning of the words near it in some way. It is a particle.
* This word is used when a speaker introduces a proposition or something that might be true. When this word is used in this way, it means if.
* Sometimes the speaker thinks the proposition he is making is true.
* Sometimes the speaker thinks the proposition he is making is not true.
* This word is also used when the speaker is questioning something or when he is talking about something he is not sure about. When this word is used in this way, it means if or whether.
