# people from whom you hope to be repaid
Here the word "hope" means "want" or "expect," and the person who hopes in this way believes that he will receive what he hopes for. The verb 'to be repaid" can be expressed with an active form. Alternate translation: "people whom you expect will repay you" (See: [[rc://en/ta/man/translate/figs-activepassive]])
