Abraham Journey
This map shows the journey that Abraham took from the Ur of the Chaldeans to when he finally made his home in the region of Cana.
Abraham was the “father of the Israelites” and they called themselves “the children of Abraham” see Isaiah 51:2; and Ezekiel 33:24).
God was called “the God of Abraham.”
The faith of Abraham
a. Abraham worshiped God (monotheistic worship), when polytheistic worship was widely practiced by those of his day (Joshua 24:3).
b. Abraham was Chosen by God (Nehemiah 9:7); redeemed by God (Isaiah 29:22); and blessed by God (Micah 7:20).
c. In the New Testament, the faith of Abraham is applied to those who trust in the New Covenant. As Abraham took an oath (Luke 1:73), he was d. Abraham was a recipient of mercy (Luke 1:54), the covenant (Acts 3:25); the promise (Romans 4:13); and the blessing of grace (Galatians 3:14).
e. Abrahams faith was a saving faith, trusting in God for salvation (Hebrews 11:8-19).

b. Babylon (city on route)
c. Haran (Genesis 12:1-4, Acts 7:4)
d. Carchemish (along the route)
e. Hamath (along the route)
f. Damascus (Genesis 15:2, with Eliezer of Damascus)
g. Shechem (reviewing the journey, Genesis 12:6)
h. Jerusalem (region, along the way from Shechem to Hebron)
i. Shiloh (heading to Bethel, along the way)
j. Bethel (reviewing the journey Genesis 12:8; Lot went to plain of the Jordan, Genesis 13:10, before events of Sodom and Gomorah)
k. Hebron (oaks of Mamre, place in Canaan where Abraham stayed, Genesis 13:18)
l. Shur (place with wells, also area of Zoan in Egypt)
m. Hebron (return to Canaan, Lot and Abraham part ways, Genesis 13:7)
