The word “trial” is used to talk about when someone experiences something very difficult.

Sometimes God allows people to have trials in order to test their faith. Christians need to rejoice when they have trials and suffering for believing in Jesus (1 Peter 4:15-16). This is because trials and suffering help Christians to mature spiritually (Romans 5:3-5; James 1:2-3; 1 Peter 1:6-7). Many Christians have trials such as being tempted, beaten, imprisoned, or even killed because of their faith (Luke 22:28; Acts 20:19).
